Insomniac

There are some nights when
sleep plays coy,
aloof and disdainful.
And all the wiles
that I employ to win
its service to my side
are useless as wounded pride,
and much more painful.

  1. There’s that gorgeously creepy little cherub! So glad you posted this in the morning, and not at night. 🙂

    • Tee! Hee! Thought you’d recognize him. This post has been sitting in my dashboard for a few weeks. I saved it for the “morning after.” A morning after of going to bed at a decent hour only to wake at midnight and toss until 3:30 a.m. Plus…I really love Maya!
Thanks for stopping by and glad I didn’t freak you out with a night post 🙂

  2. Haha! I was going to say something about the lovely yet slightly chilling cherub… and then I saw Christy beat me to it 😉

    • That thing is creepy, huh? The leaves have long blown away and now he sits there with some irises that had a tough winter. The whole bed looks dead (ha! I made a rhyme!)
Great to hear from you Jennie!

      • I believe we should all comment in rhyme!
at least for a time 😉

Is it really as creepy as it looks peeking through the leaves or is it just the shot that gives him that look? Though maybe it wasn’t the rough winter that killed the bed … hehe

I’m constantly behind in my blog reading, I run around WP like the White Rabbit; I’m late! I’m late! And everyone took the good comments already! 😉

      • He’s really creepy. That said, it didn’t help that I chose to lay flat on the ground so I capture his villainess from an under point of view.
I totally get the White Rabbit WP shuffle. Some days I’m like “Augh! How did I miss that?” I’ve even gone so far as to schedule reading time on my calendar and then a shiny object shows up and distracts me. I was soooo much more productive before I started playing writer 🙂
