Self Pity

Self Pity

I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

  1. Oh, I just love this! And nothing could be more true. I often think that we need to let ourselves be a little more wild for this very reason…

    • Hello dear friend! So good to hear from you and glad that you liked it. The words were accidentally timely. Hubby and I watched the birds scratch for seeds in almost 6 inches of snow. He said, “I feel sorry for those birds.” I just chuckled and said, “Don’t feel sorry for them. They don’t feel sorry for themselves and look completely fat and happy.” We should do just as well, no? I hope you and your beautiful family are doing well. Thanks again for popping over to my new little site.
